Experts distinguish between internal and external hemorrhoids. If external hemorrhoids make themselves felt almost immediately, then the insidiousness of internal hemorrhoids is that their symptoms are mild. A person may not pay attention to them for a long time, attributing discomfort during bowel movements to other reasons. Treatment methods for the disease with internal and external nodes will differ slightly from each other. However, a special diet for internal hemorrhoids is required.

What should you not eat if you have bleeding hemorrhoids?

In particular, spicy and fatty foods provoke a rush of blood to the pelvic organs, and weak and damaged vessels of the hemorrhoids are unable to withstand the pressure on them, which causes bleeding.
Therefore, such foods should be consumed in moderation, and in case of illness should be completely excluded.

Also prohibited foods for bleeding hemorrhoids include:

  • pickles, seasonings and sauces;
  • smoked meats;
  • milk, cheeses, cottage cheese with a high percentage of fat;
  • alcohol;
  • coffee and carbonated drinks;
  • products that cause fermentation in the intestines: sausages, legumes, sweets, flour, pasta, etc.

Categorically avoid all dangerous foods, especially alcohol, and adhere to a strict diet.

Nutrition rules during this period

Frequent constipation and, as a result, hemorrhoids with complications are the result of improper bowel function. In order not to let the disease take you by surprise or to prevent complications from worsening an already unpleasant situation, you must follow several mandatory nutritional rules:

  1. it is necessary to switch to fractional five meals a day, which will avoid overeating and a feeling of heaviness after eating. Meals should be every 3-4 hours.
  2. It is extremely important to maintain water balance in the body. It is considered sufficient to drink 1.5-2 liters of water per day. A lack of fluid interferes with normal metabolism and contributes to the formation of hard feces, leading to constipation, while the necessary water consumption restores normal stools and eliminates discomfort during bowel movements.
  3. Including fiber in your diet will help not only normalize metabolism and restore intestinal function, but also remove toxins and waste from the body. The main sources of fiber are vegetables, fruits and berries, water-based cereals, bran, and nuts.
  4. You need to start consuming low-fat fermented milk products: cottage cheese, kefir, sour cream, etc.
  5. Vegetables, fruits and grains should form the basis of the diet.

Diet for hemorrhoids

Nutrition and course of the disease

A person who has felt all the hardships of this disease not for the first time understands what exactly can lead to an exacerbation of the disease, which manifests itself not only in a rectal fissure. Frequent constipation or diarrhea provokes the appearance of new cracks, bleeding, and a rather painful exacerbation of hemorrhoids.

Eating with hemorrhoids cannot be normal. It is necessary to limit or completely abandon alcohol and fried, smoked, spicy foods. A diet that consists of them can cause blood flow to the pelvic veins, causing an exacerbation. Rapidly flowing blood leads to overload of the veins in the rectal area.

New nodes gradually form and cracks appear.

Poor nutrition and an abundance of fatty and spicy foods with low fluid intake provoke constipation, and this is a sure way to exacerbation of the disease. What to eat, what diet will help get rid of this condition?

What can you eat?

Bleeding hemorrhoids are a complicated form of the disease that brings a person a lot of painful and uncomfortable sensations and interferes with leading a normal lifestyle. Here it is important to act immediately, and you should start by building your diet.

In the list of permitted products:

  1. porridge with water;
  2. lean meat and steamed fish;
  3. whole grain bread (with flax seeds);

  11. greenery.

Compliance with all of the above rules, consumption of approved products and avoidance of the most dangerous ones will guarantee relief from the disease and relief from unpleasant sensations.

Recommended food during an exacerbation of the disease

During an exacerbation of the disease, it is strictly forbidden to give yourself any relief in your diet. The slightest deviation from the regime leads to even more serious consequences.

During this period, it is best to eat food in semi-liquid or non-solid form, and once a week have a fasting day with liquids.

During an exacerbation of the disease, it is recommended to consume more foods containing dietary fiber : bran, carrots, beets, fruits, legumes, flax seeds, and also try to eliminate salt, sugar and spices from the diet as much as possible!

Diet for constipation and fissures

In cases where, in addition to bleeding hemorrhoids, fissures and regular constipation are tormented, you should stick to a balanced diet with the required amount of calories, proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

Scientists have specially developed a porridge recipe that is good for people suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It is also called “anti-constipation”.

It is also necessary to lead an active lifestyle, try to walk more, play sports, and if there is no possibility of radical changes in your routine, then you can start with morning exercises and taking the stairs home instead of the elevator. This will be a small step towards good health!

How to eat vegetables and fruits correctly

If hemorrhoids develop, it is recommended to eat fruits and vegetables raw, this way fiber and vitamins are preserved.
But they can be boiled, steamed, baked and stewed. The beneficial substances in fried vegetables are almost completely destroyed. Fruits in the form of jam also retain very few nutrients. Dried fruits, which retain most of the nutrients, are considered a good alternative to jam in terms of taste. Pickled and salted fruits and vegetables should be avoided if you have hemorrhoids.

Vegetables go perfectly with oils. For example, sunflower, olive, flaxseed. They maintain normal fat reserves in the body and are useful for repairing cell membranes. Fruits can be seasoned with yogurt or low-fat sour cream, supplemented with bran. This way they are easily digestible.

A great option for consuming fresh vegetables and fruits is smoothies. These are products crushed and whipped in a blender to the state of an airy puree or a very thick cocktail.

It is important to supplement your diet with tea drinks based on herbs: nettle (reduces bleeding), chamomile (disinfects and heals), yarrow (reduces bleeding, eliminates inflammation and disinfects). It is better to choose green tea for the base of the drink. Black is suitable if it is brewed very weakly.

A spoonful of honey will perfectly complement and saturate the drink with amino acids. Enriches the body with organic and inorganic acids and microelements.

Not all cereals are healthy! It is better to eat oatmeal, buckwheat, rice, wheat, barley.

Cereal porridges should be either crumbly or enveloping.

Vegetables and fruits provide the body with healthy vitamins, displacing all waste and toxins. During the acute phase of hemorrhoids, it is better to coordinate the intake of such products with your doctor!
