Omez or pariet which is better expert opinion

pharmachologic effect

Manufacturer: Takeda Pharmaceutical, USA
Release form: Modified release capsules

Active ingredient: Dexlansoprazole

Dexilant suppresses the final stage of gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the proton pump.

A special feature of Dexilant is the specific structure of the capsules, which contain the substance in the form of two types of granules. Some dissolve in the stomach, others in the small intestine. As a result, the effect of the drug is prolonged, which allows you to use it once a day.

Comparison of safety of Pariet and Omez

The safety of a drug includes many factors.

At the same time, Pariet’s is higher than Omez’s. It is important where the drug is metabolized: drugs are excreted from the body either unchanged or in the form of products of their biochemical transformations. Metabolism occurs spontaneously, but most often involves major organs such as the liver, kidneys, lungs, skin, brain and others. When assessing metabolism in Pariet, as well as in Omez, we look at which organ is the metabolizing organ and how critical the effect on it is.

The risk-benefit ratio is when the prescription of a drug is undesirable, but justified under certain conditions and circumstances, with the obligatory observance of caution in use. At the same time, Pariet has fewer risks when used than Omez.

Also, when calculating safety, it is taken into account whether only allergic reactions occur or possible dysfunction of the main organs. In other matters, as well as the reversibility of the consequences of using Pariet and Omez.

Dexilant - instructions for use

Taking Dexilant before or after meals does not affect its effectiveness. The main thing is to swallow the capsule whole.

You can open the capsule and place the contents in a spoon, mix with fruit puree, and swallow the mixture. Dexilant granules cannot be destroyed, since they are covered with a special coating that will allow them to dissolve in the desired part of the intestine.

For erosive esophagitis, the therapeutic dose is 60 mg, which should be taken once a day for 6–8 weeks.

Maintenance treatment with Dexilant is carried out at a dose of 30 mg, also once a day for up to 6 weeks.

For heartburn caused by GERD, one 30 mg capsule per day is enough. Course – 4 weeks.

Indications for use

What does Pariet help with? 10 mg tablets are prescribed for dyspepsia caused by high acidity of gastric juice, accompanied by heartburn and sour belching.

Pariet 20 mg is recommended for use when:

  • maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease;
  • eradication of Helicobacter pylori for patients with ulcerative lesions;
  • erosive and ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease and reflux esophagitis;
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and conditions associated with pathological hypersecretion;
  • nonerosive gastroesophageal reflux disease;
  • gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer during exacerbations.

Dexilant's analogs

It is difficult to find analogues similar in composition to Dexilant, since this drug has no synonyms. The patent protection period for the drug has not yet expired, so no one is producing generics yet.

But among analogues and substitutes for Dexilant there are many drugs that contain active ingredients from the same group of proton pump inhibitors - Nolpaza, Pariet, Emanera, Omez.

Dexilant can also be replaced with drugs from other therapeutic groups, for example, the H2-histamine receptor blocker Ranitidine, gastrointestinal stimulants Ganaton and Trimedat, or gastroprotectors Rebagit and De-Nol.

Without a doctor's prescription, you can take no more than 20 mg of Omez per day.

Nolpaza

Manufacturer: KRKA, Slovenia
Release form: enteric tablets and lyophilisate for the preparation of a solution for intravenous administration

Active ingredient: Pantoprazole

Synonyms: Controloc, Sanpraz, Nolpaza, Panum, Puloref

The analogue of Dexilant in Nolpaza tablets is an antiulcer agent, characterized by the presence of an antibacterial effect against Helicobacter pylori. In addition, Nolpaza enhances the anti-Helicobacter effect of antibiotics that are used in the treatment of stomach and duodenal ulcers.

Ranitidine

RanitidineManufacturer: Ozone, Russia
Release form: tablets

Active ingredient: Ranitidine

Synonyms: Gistak, Zantac, Rantak, Ranitidine-AKOS, Ranitidine-Acri

The analogue Ranitidine, like Dexilant, inhibits the secretion of gastric juice, but in a different way - it blocks specific histamine H2 receptors in the stomach, which helps reduce acidity. At the same time, the drug enhances the protective properties of the gastric mucosa, promotes the healing of ulcerative surfaces, increasing the secretion of gastric mucus.

The analogue Ranitidine is used for ulcerative lesions of the stomach and intestines and internal bleeding.

De-nol

De-Nol
Manufacturer: Astellas Pharma, Netherlands

Release form: film-coated tablets

Active ingredient: Bismuth tripotassium dicitrate

Synonyms: Ulkavix, Novobismol, Escape, Vikanol Life

The analogue of Dexilant De-Nol is a gastroprotector, that is, a drug that protects the gastric mucosa from various damaging factors.

De-Nol, containing bismuth salts, has an astringent and anti-inflammatory effect. Thanks to protein coagulation, the drug kills the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which causes stomach ulcers, and forms a protective film on the mucous membrane.

The De-Nol analogue is also used for various dyspeptic intestinal disorders.

Rebagit

Rebagit
Manufacturer: Pro Med Prague, Czech Republic

Release form: tablets

Active ingredient: Rebamipide

Synonyms: Gastrostat, Rebamipide McLeodz

The Rebagit analogue, unlike Dexilant, increases the mucus content on the surface of the stomach, thereby protecting it from increased acidity. Therefore, it can also be used together with Dexilant to speed up the healing process.

Ganaton

Manufacturer: Abbott, Germany
Release form: film-coated tablets

Active ingredient: Itopride

Synonyms: Itomed, Itopra

Analog Ganaton has a stimulating effect on the motility of the gastrointestinal tract, relieves bloating, heartburn, pain in the upper abdomen, nausea and vomiting, that is, symptoms that accompany most gastrointestinal diseases.

The principle of action and advantages of rabeprazole

The development of ulcerative lesions of the walls of the stomach and duodenum is based on excessive secretion of hydrochloric acid (HC) or pathology, in which the natural mechanisms of protection against the aggressive effects of SA are weakened. The latter is often provoked by long-term use of painkillers or aspirin (NSAIDs), Helicobacter, and severe stress.

The mucous membrane of the stomach consists of various types of cells. In particular, the formation of hydrochloric acid, consisting of a hydrogen and chlorine atom, occurs in the parietal cells. Its synthesis is due to the normal operation of the “proton pump”. The mechanism of action of PPI drugs is to slow down the pump. Acidity is neutralized and at this time the gastric mucosa has time to recover and the ulcer to heal.

The drugs also have a protective effect on the esophageal mucosa in case of reflux esophagitis (GERD), however, in this case, pantoprazole (Nolpaza, Controloc) is more preferable than rabeprazole.

Khairabezol or Pariet are somewhat superior to similar representatives of earlier generations of inhibitors. Although in the case of IPN, the division into generations is arbitrary and speaks not so much about efficiency as about novelty. Rabeprazole-containing drugs are classified as III and an advantage over omeprazole and analogues is considered to be faster relief of painful symptoms with equal effectiveness.

What's better?

Compared to the most commonly prescribed 2nd generation antiulcer drugs, for example, omeprazole, the third more consistently blocks the synthesis of hydrochloric acid throughout the entire duration of action and relieves symptoms more quickly. However, it is also impossible to abruptly stop treatment with Pariet or Khairabezol in order to prevent the so-called “rebound” syndrome. At the end of the course, it is advisable to gradually reduce the dosage or frequency of administration.

If Pariet or Khairabezol are compared by cost, then a package of the original Japanese product will cost almost 5 times more than a generic for an equal number of tablets. Generic drugs may be inferior in effectiveness or tolerability to the original due to the use of cheaper raw materials or worse quality control, it all depends on the specific manufacturer. The Indian company HiGlance Laboratories, which produces Hirabezol on the pharmaceutical market relatively recently, and it is difficult to say anything definite about its reputation. Therefore, if you need a cheaper analogue of Pariet, you should pay attention to another Indian generic - Razo from the large company Dr. Reddis with branches in Europe.
